Va Piano 2005 Syrah scored 91 points in the December 1, 2007 issue of Wine Enthusiast. "Smooth, luscious, dense and brilliant - the color is saturated and superbright - this silky wine has kept tannins supple and ripe. It captures the essence of young, fresh, spicy Syrah, unadulterated or modified with other grapes. This is tight, firm, sappy, young and a bit relentless in a tough, confident style. Flavors of cranberry and wild raspberry run rampant, with plenty of acid to keep it clean and penetrating."

Va Piano 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon scored 91 points in the December 2007 issue of Wine & Spirits. "From winemaker Justin Wylie's eight-year-old plantings in Walla Walla, this youthful wine has a spicy scen of chair and black currants. A dusty, red-earth texture grounds the black cherry flabors, giving the wine elegance and poise. It should meld with a little bottle age, then be a good match for braised beef."
